Admission Policies

Enrollment
Registration information may be obtained by calling 515-279-0742. Students are accepted continuously throughout the year. Class placement is not determined by age but by ability. All new students are required to take a placement class to determine the appropriate class level.  There is an annual registration fee of $15.00 ($25.00 family rate) assessed to all students.  Complete a registration form when you enroll.  Class sizes are limited and may be closed to new students.

Parent Participation
Parents are encouraged to view their children’s work during 4 scheduled observation weeks during the school year.  Parents are welcome to use the lounge area during class.  Please make an appointment to discuss important matters with the teacher since breaks between classes do not allow adequate time.

Student Conduct
Students are expected to be prompt, prepared to work, attentive, and considerate to the instructor and fellow students. Gum, Food, and Drinks will not be allowed in the studio. Running, screaming and loud conversation are disruptive to ongoing classes and will not be tolerated in the studio, dressing rooms or waiting areas. Student should be in good health and physically and mentally prepared to participate in dance classes. Any limitations to participation should be clearly stated on the student’s registration form. THE POINTE participates in the tradition of student applause at the conclusion of class.

Notice of Non-Discriminatory Policy as to Students
The Pointe Academy admits students of any race, color, national/ethnic origin or sexual orientation to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.  It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national/ethnic origin, or sexual orientation in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies and scholarship program.

Financial Assistance

  • Work Scholarships may be full or partial and include duties above and beyond the responsibility of dance class attendance
  • Pre-professional Scholarships may be full or partial and are given only to students who are judged worthy of a scholarship based on financial need and earnest devotion to dance training.
