| All dancers must pull their hair up out of their faces and especially off the back of their neck so the teacher (and student) can see posture and to avoid eye injury while dancing. Here is a link to a website containing illustrated step-by-step instructions on how to make a ballet bun. | |

Dance Head Start |
|
|
Two levels : Concentrates on developing flexibility, musical and special
awareness, good posture, co-ordination, confidence, and some basic ballet
terminology. A fun time where children are introduced to a structured
dance environment. |

Level-D Ballet classes conclude with 15 minutes of

Pre Professional Program |

Levels 5-7 |
Complete pointe classes offered as well as our full range of classes. Advanced ballet students may have the opportunity to join THE POINTE DANCE ENSEMBLE our resident youth performing group. |
8 to
11 classes per week suggested. Our
program
is designed
to prepare dancers for apprentice programs in Professional
Ballet Companies, but can be adapted to meet the dance goals of
recreational dancers and cross-training athletes as well.
Emphasis is on proper (injury preventing) technique,
athleticism and artistry while building strength, coordination,
musicality, and flexibility. The
goal is disciplined, self-assured performers and graceful, knowledgeable
dancers. Girl's Dress code: Pink ballet slippers, Black leotard and pink tights. Men's Dress code: Black ballet slippers, White t-shirt, black tights. |

Jazz and Modern |
|
|
Classes in our Jazz program explore a wide spectrum of styles from Broadway Jazz to Hip-Hop to Breakdancing. There is something for everyone! Classes are fun, athletic and use age appropriate movement and music. Classes in our Modern program introduce alternative movement vocabulary from a variety of sources. You'll dance barefoot! Dress code: Most students wear the dress code for their ballet classes (with footless or convertible tights), and you may add jazz pants or a tight fitting shirt. Wear shoes appropriate for the class. |

Lifelong learning is encouraged at THE POINTE. Adults
are welcome to take any class at their skill level, but we also
have a Ballet class “for adults only” and don't forget to
try "Body Conditioning classes"
