Annual Garage Sale Fundraiser
for Donate your cool stuff (costumes are OK, but please no clothing) for the Garage Sale fundraiser. All proceeds benefit the Pointe Academy Dance Ensemble's upcoming performances. The garage sale will be held on October 11, 2008 and we are also seeking volunteers who can help set-up, work the sale and clean up afterwards. This is an important fundraiser for the company and we depend on funds raised to support the spring performance, so please help by cleaning out your garage and closets, helping out and coming out to buy your friends' cool stuff! _________________________________________________________________________________________ Summer

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) We are partnering with the Homestead farms in Pleasant Hill to have fresh vegetables delivered to the Pointe for you to pick up when you buy a share for your family. Homestead works with autistic people and the naturally grown food they produce out of their vocational training program is a healthy alternative to pre-packaged vegetables for your family. You will get a package of fresh picked vegetables—whatever is in season that week for 20 weeks! Pick them up when you take your class – what could be easier and healthier for your family? Sign up at the studio NOW!
SUMMER SCHEDULE for 2009 will be announced in March of 2009

Former student, Callie Bachman, left Iowa in 2003 to live in New York City and study at the New York City Ballet's school, The School of American Ballet. She was hand-picked by Peter Martins, Artistic Director of the New York City Ballet to play Juliet in his all new 2007 production of Romeo and Juliet. She was featured on the cover of the April 2007 Pointe Magazine (shown below). She was chosen as an apprentice with the New York City Ballet for the 2008-2009 season. We are very proud of her! Just think, she danced with us in Level-A ballet classes and was a founding member of the school's youth ballet! In 2003 she was awarded the "Bun Head Award" that is given every 2 years to the Pointe dancer who has impressed the staff the most with her hard work and dedication to dance. She continues to inspire us! We are very proud of her!
